Pero este enclave toma inter\u00e9s por su situaci\u00f3n a pie del cerro Mainet\u00f3n y junto a la carretera hacia Hell\u00edn, ofreciendo todo ello buenas condiciones para la existencia de varias casas de campo donde hubo poblaci\u00f3n estable, dedicada a la agricultura, hasta mediados del siglo XX, cuando se generaliz\u00f3 la concentraci\u00f3n de la poblaci\u00f3n en los n\u00facleos urbanos. A la degradaci\u00f3n de este paraje contribuy\u00f3 la devastaci\u00f3n natural de los olmos por la enfermedad de la grafiosis.
