Se trata de una fortaleza hispano-musulmana que a\u00fan conserva su torre principal, fabricada con tapial, as\u00ed como aljibes para el almacenamiento de agua y restos de lienzos de murallas y viviendas. Se erige a 714 metros de altitud en lo alto de una cresta rocosa.<\/p><p>Su decadencia comenz\u00f3 en torno al siglo XIII cuando se despobl\u00f3 el asentamiento. Hay testimonios de que al menos otra torre aguant\u00f3 en pie en este mismo recinto hasta finales del siglo XIX tal y como se puede leer en la cita que abre el texto.<\/p><p>Se encuentra bajo la protecci\u00f3n de la Declaraci\u00f3n gen\u00e9rica del Decreto de 22 de abril de 1.949 y ley 16\/1985 sobre el Patrimonio Hist\u00f3rico Espa\u00f1ol.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El Castellar de Sierra \u00abDe el tiempo de su fundaci\u00f3n no se halla ninguna noticia; pero se puede atribuir a los Romanos, que la llamaron Turbula, o Tremula, hoy Tobarra.
